With all the big names like Sha Carri Richardson and Elaine Thompson-Herah pulling out of the Kip Keino Classic, the only challenge Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had was Namibian star Christine Mboma. However, it was not at all what Mboma has imagined this race to be. All you can say about the 20-year-old athlete as of now is tough luck.

Once again, the star of the race was none other than the Jamaican legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Living up to her standards, she won the 100m Kip Keino Classic very comprehensively. The Jamaican clocked a record time of 10.67 seconds and gave the crowd the thrill they were seeking. In doing so, she became overall the sixth fastest female in the 100m ever.

A sad day for Christine Mboma

Going into the race, she was one of the top favorites. However, halfway on the track, unfortunately, she pulled a muscle and couldn’t even finish the race. The officials had to carry Mboma on a stretcher. Undoubtedly, she could have given tough competition to the Jamaican legend, but maybe it was just a bad day for the Namibian athlete.
