After her highly covered breakup with Nike, she introduced her brand called ‘Saysh.’ Since Felix’s primary issue with Nike was its maternity policy, she promises to offer interesting new policies to her pregnant customers.

‘Saysh’ by Allyson Felix gets huge funding

Felix’s brand ‘Saysh’ will become one of the major players in the market with the help of an enormous investment. Led by the specialist consumer fund, Iris Ventures, in participation with Redpoint Ventures, the brand is to receive millions in Series A financing.

With this money, Allyson will focus on scaling her brand’s footwear collection and also its e-commerce and wholesale distribution. They will also aim to improve their community outreach with retail pop-ups.

Launched just a year ago, Saysh was discovered in the wake of Felix’s dispute with Nike. She failed to find Nike footwear that would serve her needs on the track.

Last June, the ‘Saysh One’ sneaker got the best launch, when Felix wore it at the Olympics. This shoe helped her cross the line and become the most decorated American Track and Field athlete of all time. Just like Saysh, they also established Iris last year. Their goal is to support consumer brands and tech companies which support healthier, happier, and more convenient lifestyles.

Why did Felix and Nike Split?

Back in the year 2017, when Felix’s contract with Nike expired, Felix was pregnant during the time of negotiations. At the time, Nike proposed a 70% pay cut as they did not have a maternity policy in place. This forced Allyson to leave Nike and become a part of Athleta, a company that specializes in women’s apparel.

After this, Saysh was formed as Felix wore them for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics. From the life-threatening birth of Camryn, her daughter, to becoming the most successful American track and field athlete, Allyson Felix has come a long way. She is indeed a living legend and a source of inspiration to millions of women across the planet. After the controversy, Nike introduced new maternity policies for their female employees.
