Track and field legend, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, kicked off her season after battling an injury. The 36-year-old athlete injured her knee while training for the Kip Keino Classic event. However, though her recovery was still underway, she participated in the World Athletics Championships and shone brightly on the tracks of Budapest. However, after sprinting her way towards the finish line in 4x100m relay, the Jamaican sprinter faced another setback. She aggravated her knee injury, raising concerns among the fans.

Following this situation, to avoid betting her career on the line, Fraser-Pryce pulled out of the Diamond League Finals. However, the 36-year-old Olympian rekindled hope amongst her fans on social media. Fraser-Pryce posted a refreshing reel of the 2023 World Athletics journey on her Instagram.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce drops a World Athletics recap

On Sunday, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce blessed the feeds of her fans. The athlete posted a refreshing recap of her World Athletics Championship with the caption ‘And it went like this…”. A yellow heart and a smiling emoji accompanied the post.

The video showcased snapshots of her training on the Budapest tracks. It also included shots of her fans proudly waving the Jamaican flag in the National Athletics Center, Budapest.

The track and field star also posted glimpses of her 100-meter race. To top it off, it had shots of her sharing the podium with the fastest woman in the world, Sha’Carri Richardson. Fraser-Pryce ended her video by proudly clinching the bronze she claimed after finishing the 100m in 10:77.

Interestingly, this post comes only a few days after the athlete pulled out of the Diamond League. The 36-year-old Fraser-Pryce decided not to join the team Jamaica after aggravating her knee injury at the Worlds.

After a month-long hiatus, on August 31st, the Diamond League started in Zurich. However, Fraser-Pryce decided not to join 200-meter world champion Shericka Jackson. The track and field star, who ran on the second leg, aggravated her knee injury in the 100-meter relay race at the Worlds. And to that effect there has been an update from the Jamaican Observer.

According to the tweet posted on August 27 by Jamaican Observer, “Fraser-Pryce’s knee injury appears to have been aggravated. She is scheduled to do an ultrasound.” Amid this concerning situation, Fraser Pryce’s medical team provided relief to the fans. According to the doctor’s update, the athlete is recovering from the injury and remains in good health.
