A South Carolina Freshman, JaMeesia Ford is the one to reach new levels of success by surpassing the record at the U20 Championships. Not just this, she was also recognized for this extraordinary achievement with an award. She has attained multiple other wins in this championship, making her a prominent space in the track and field community.

Sydney McLaughlin Levrone’s record surpassed by JaMeesia Ford
JaMeesia Ford recently broke Syndey McLaughlin-Levrone’s record in 300m indoors. A US Track and field insider took to his X account to praise Ford for the same. The caption of the post carried, “JaMeesia Ford of GameCock Track earned USATF Athlete of the Week honors for running the fastest indoor 300m ever by a U20 woman at the Clemson Opener”.

Ford clinched the win at the 300m by clocking a time of 35.82. This is the best indoor time ever clocked by anyone in the U20 Championships. Ford with this surpassed Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s record of 36.12 set in 2017. This is the fourth fastest indoor time ever run by an American woman. Alongside this, Ford also has multiple accomplishments to her name that prove her worth in the Track and field.

Other track and field accomplishments of JaMeesia Ford
Ford grabbed the win of North Carolina class 4A high school titles at 100, 200, and 400 earlier this year. Adding to this another accolade is her securing the title of the Nike Outdoor Nationals 400m. In the same event, she also won the third prize in the 200m.

She making her way to the top positions in the roster of the USATF U20 Championships secured a third position with a PB 51.77 in the 400m. She has also been part of the team that clinched gold in the mixed 4×400 relay at the Pan American U20 Championships. As Ford makes the record of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone to bow down, it seems that one more bright star is on the horizon.
