Lewis Hamilton is Usain Bolt when compared to Sebastian Vettel

It’s been five years since the Jamaican legend Usain Bolt said goodbye to the track world, but he is still the fastest man alive. Hence, people often use him as a synonym for anything fast. Therefore, when asked compared to the four-time F1 champion, Sebastian Vettel, the Mercedes driver, also called himself the ‘Lightning Bolt.’

The seven-time F1 champion, Hamilton, said, “How I strategize over these next months into next season… When you watch Usain Bolt out of the start blocks, he’s just a little bit slower than the others. So he’s just behind and then he creeps back.”

The ‘Lightning Bolt’ effect

Lewis Hamilton is not the only one who ever compared himself to the track legend Usain Bolt because he is fast. Basically, anything that is the fastest in the league is compared to him. So the fast swimmer becomes the Usain Bolt of swimming, the fastest cyclist becomes the Bolt of cycling, and so on. Perhaps that’s what true greatness looks like. People use you as a category or a bucket tag.

Until someone breaks Bolt’s record, he’ll enjoy the privilege of being anonymous to anything and everything that is fast.
