Sha’Carri Richardson asserts a tough competition to her Jamaican counterparts
The 100-meter race tracks have been dominated by Jamaicans for years. 10-time World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has gained five of her titles in the 100m race, while Shericka Jackson has clinched one gold in the 100m track till now.
However, this year, Sha’Carri Richardson continues to clinch the first position on the podium when it comes to 100m heat. At the finals of the World Athletics Championship, Richardson became the fastest woman on earth, surpassing both the icons by clocking in at 10.65. Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce settled for the second and third positions, respectively.

And to add more to her ever-growing achievements, Sha’Carri Richardson defeated Jamaican prodigy Natasha Morrison on the Swiss tracks. The American sprinter clocked in at 10.88 seconds to secure her place in the other round.
The team Jamaica had to settle as runner-ups as 100m track legend Elaine Thomspon-Herah has matched the score with compatriot Natasha Morrison, as they both covered the race with a timeframe of 11.00 seconds. Interestingly, till now, Sha’Carri Richardson has only faced one defeat. According to Watch Athletics, Richardson had to settle for the second position at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial.

On July 18, during the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, Sha’Carri Richardson was faced with the defeat. The 23-year-old LSU sensation, who was participating in back-to-back races, settled for the second position while collegiate star Julien Alfred secured the first position.

The University of Texas athlete clocked in at 10.89 seconds, following ShaCarri Richardson, who, due to a poor start, finished the race in 10.97 seconds.
However, after the loss, Sha’Carri Richardson decided to take a short break from the tracks, only to come back stronger. Since the loss, the athlete has been dominating the 100-meter race tracks and claiming gold for Team USA on international tracks.
