NBA Legend Snubs Usain Bolt Declaring US Athlete as the Fastest Man on the Planet

US track superstar Fred Kerley finally broke his streak of silver medals, which was intact since the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In the 2022 World Athletics Championship, the Olympic silver medalist led team USA to its first clean sweep of the men’s 100 in 31 years. However, as the congratulations began for Kerley, NBA GOAT Magic Johnson might have snubbed the track legend Usain Bolt.
It’s been five years since Usain Bolt said goodbye to the sport at the 2017 world championship in London. Although, the Jamaican track icon still holds the title of the fastest man alive. Well, that’s absolutely true. Only the greatest NBA point guard of all time thinks otherwise.

Magic Johnson awards Fred Kerley the title of the fastest man on the planet over Usain Bolt
After Kerley’s sensational performance in the Oregon world championship, fans praised the American superstar for leading the team to a perfect clean sweep in years. Joining the praises was the NBA GOAT Magic Johnson. He wrote on his Twitter handle, “want to congratulate the fastest man on the planet, Fred Kerley!! He won the Mens 100M dash at the World Athletics Championships. Americans swept the podium for the Mens 100M with Marvin Bracy snagging Silver and Trayvon Bromell capturing Bronze. @fkerley99″

Although Johnson wanted to appreciate Kerley’s remarkable accomplishment, he made a mistake by calling him the fastest man on the planet. Kerley finished the 100m dash with 9.86 seconds on the clock, which is significantly less than Bolt’s world record of 9.58 seconds. Surely, the Jamaican legend would like a chat about this with Johnson.

So if you ask me what I want to be, I want to be the Fastest Man in the World.”

Although he is not quite there yet, perhaps someday he’ll get the privilege to be called the fastest man on the planet. However, for now, it’s Usain Bolt, who is the fastest man on the planet.
