Being the greatest sprinter of all time requires a lot of preparation, with a heavy workout and a rich diet. There was a time in Usain’s life when his coach was about to abandon him if he didn’t follow his rules.

Usain has been in the news for having chicken nuggets in his diet. His diet grabbed everyone’s attention in 2008 when he was seen munching on chicken nuggets for the first time.

During an interview with the Guardian, Bolt revealed how he included nuggets in his diet. He said he also had a bad habit of eating at the wrong time in his bed. According to Bolt, his coach Glen Mills tried to stop him by switching his night snack with cereals.

Before the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bolt was worried about himself for being in bad shape. As per the Jamaican sprinter, his coach Glen Mills warned him, “Listen to me, if you don’t get yourself in the shape which I feel you should be in, I’m not going to Rio. You can go, but I’m not.”

Usain’s favorite – chicken nuggets

Bolt participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. During this time, he was first seen eating chicken nuggets as a part of his diet. Also, USA Today reported that Usain consumed around 1,000 Nuggets while competing in the Beijing Olympics. Each piece of nuggets contains around 280 calories.

Bolt consuming 5000 calories from nuggets daily was also included in his autobiography ‘Faster than lightning’. It was mentioned, “Honestly, I ate nothing else in all my time out in China except chicken nuggets. They were the only food I could properly trust which wouldn’t affect my stomach.”
