Jamaican sprinter Brianna Lyston is now making headlines for her spectacular performance. LSU’s Brianna Lyston shone brightly at the 2024 Battle on the Bayou meet. The World U20 200m champion received the remarkable win, finishing it in an impressive time of 10.87 seconds at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge. Regardless of the circumstances, her impressive time marks the fastest time ever fastest-career opener in collegiate history in 100m.

Brianna’s victory on Saturday puts her at the top in the new 2024 ranking in the event. With her sensational performance in the women’s 100m dash, Brianna left the Jamaican Olympian athlete, Junelle Bromfield and track and field world in awe. After witnessing her performance, track world and athletics enthusiasm came forth to cherish her victory through social media.

In her 100m-collegiate debut, LSU track and field athlete, Brianna Lyston took all the spotlight, finishing a close second behind her teammate, Favour Ofili. Tiger Olympians won the race, clocking at 10.85 seconds. LSU track and field took to her official Instagram account to cheer the greatest accomplishments of the LSU track stars. Along with posting some captivating pictures from the event, they highlighted the win of the Tigers, captioning the post “IN HER 100M-COLLEGIATE DEBUT: 10.87w‼️ @brianna.lyss’s opener puts her at No. 1 in the nation. 😮‍💨@ofili.fa finished in 1st with a time of 10.85 (+2.6) and @_thelmadavies also went sub-11 with 10.98!”

Apart from, Brianna and Favour Ofili, LSU fifth-year senior and the SEC Champion in the 4×100-Meter Relay, Thelma Davies also took part in the battle at the Bayou meet. She was placed third in the country, clocking in 10.98 seconds in the 100-meter heat. This marks her personal best time in the event. In 2023, she competed at Texas Relays, setting her PB with 11.19 seconds. However, in the whole event, Brianna dazzled by recording her impressive time during her 100m-collegiate debut.

Olympic bronze medallist, Bromfield appreciated Brianna’s win by commenting on the post shared by LSU track and field. She took to her comment box to celebrate her fiery performance, as “🔥🔥🔥🙌”

Apart from the US track and field community, LSU track stars have also been celebrating Brianna’s exceptional accomplishments.  Brianna Lytton’s teammate and LSUs’ talented track star Thelma Davies also praised her performance by using some heart emojis, commenting in the post “❤️‍🔥👑👑.”

While, another track and field athlete McKenzie Long also admired Brianna’s impressive performance by resharing the post by USTFCCCA’s post, showcasing her love with the comment  “my love so proud of you” and “my girl @ brianna.lyss.” Brianna also reshared the same post in her IG story.

Track & Field star Handal Roban  also reshared the LSU post to cherish the recent win of Brianna, mentioning the comments “speedy Gonzales” and “Not surprised.” Brianna also reshared this post expressing her gratitude by penning “Thank You”.
