Sha?Carri Richardson reproached journalists for being disrespectful
Richardson?has had her fair share of brushes with the media and other personalities in the past. However, she recently lashed out at journalists in the mixed zone at the USATF Outdoor Championships.
The sprinter attended the mixed zone to speak with reporters at the meet. However, Richardson was annoyed when a journalist asked her to summarize the course of the meet.

Speaking up, the sprinter?said,??No, I have what I have to say y’all can all take this interview and do whatever you want to do with it. I’m coming to speak not on just my behalf but all athletes’ behalf that when you guys do interviews y’all should respect athletes more.?

However, the disapproval towards the media may stem from her disappointment over not securing a medal at the meet. Her next statement reflects this sentiment well.
?Understand how athlete operates and then ask your questions. Then be more understanding of the fact that they are still human,??she continued.

Was Richardson’s frustration justified?
Richardson made the statements after failing to qualify for the finals of the 200m event. She moved to the semi-finals of the race after securing 10th position in the first round with a time of 22.69s.
However, the athlete failed to improve her position during the semi-finals to come 10th again. In the event, she?slashed?0.22s off her time in the first round. However, it was not sufficient to qualify for the finals.

Previously, Richardson did not advance to the semis of the 100m event after coming 23rd in the first round. Since she did not proceed to the finals in both events, she missed her chance at this year?s Worlds.
