5 Former Track Stars That Moved to NFL and Now Stand as Potential Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce Teammates for US Flag Football Team at LA 28

NFL consists of multiple former track and field stars, and now they going into the LA 28 with these staunch players. It is going to be an exciting one for both the track and field and the NFL enthusiasts. The LA 2028 was making waves on the internet recently after the addition of five new games in it. It was released by the IOC, International Olympic Committee, that five new games have been added to the 2028 Olympics and admirers cannot wait to witness these events in the upcoming competition.

The five games to be added are Cricket, Lacrosse, Squash, Flag Football, and baseball-softball. The flag football has made it in the Olympics for the first time and the players are already girded up to deliver stupendous performances. The former track star Tyreek Hill upon hearing this news had already planned to do something extraordinary at the Olympics. There are many more track athletes who shifted to the NFL with time and have the potential to team up with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the 2028 Olympics. It is one of the biggest possibilities that with ideal athletes like them, it is going to be a competitive yet fun competition.

Both these sports vary a lot from each other when it comes to skill sets. However, the factors that are honed in the track athletes always give an upper hand to the athletes who shifted to the NFL. Now, with Flag Football in the Olympics 2028, wonder who the former five track and field athletes would be that have the potential to squad up and participate in the competition?

One of the names with an epic track background is Tyreek Hill. He is now an American football wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. He was named the Track and Field News’s High School Athlete of the Year in 2012. With this, he was also a USA Today All-American. He also bagged commendable wins in the 100 meters and 200 meters at the 2012 Georgia 5A state meet. When he was in high school, he recorded personal best times of 10.19 seconds and 20.14 seconds in the 100-meter and 200-meter events.

This is not it. He also nabbed a bronze medal in the 200 meters and a relay gold in the 4x100m at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona in 2012. For both sports, he participated in Oklahoma State. After his staunch track and field career, he has now made his space in the NFL with his speed. In his initial stages, he was considered a rookie, but with time he has transitioned himself into a commendable wide receiver. He with his track skills can make one of the best members of the squad.

Another player who shifted to the NFL because of his love for football is Devon Allen. He is an Olympic hurdler and with it, he is a professional football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. Allen has also played as a wide receiver for the University of Oregon Football team from 2014 to 2016. He is the ideal example of balancing both sports.

He is a three-time U.S. national champion, he nabbed the wins in 2014, 2016, and 2018. With this, the athlete is also a two-time Olympian, who reached the finals in both the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Devon recorded his personal best time of 12.84 seconds in 2022 and is ranked as the third-fastest time in history. He with his extraordinary talent to balance the sports is just the right fit for the Olympics 2028.

Some other former track athletes best suited for LA28

After the amazing careers of Tyreek Hill and Devon Allen, another former track and field athlete is Dominique Raheem Mostert. He is now an American football running back for the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. He played his college football at Purdue. Mostert is cherished in the track community because of his great performances in multiple events. He clinched gold four times in the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 100 meters and 200 meters.

He participated in multiple championships and college track events like the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Kentucky Relays (College Division), NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, and more. Now with his avid interest in football, he is doing his best. He was also ranked as the fastest college football player in the NCAA. He is another perfect inclusion in the squad for the LA28.

The fourth athlete that has the potential to make his space is DK Metcalf. He is an American football wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks.  He has a background in track and field as he was a hurdler, but his recent portrayal of speed in the 100-meter in the Hilmer Lodge Stadium. He was a hurdler in high school and has never run a 100 but his skills stunned the community. Although he didn’t win the race, his speed skills were succinctly visible, and his sportsmanship was commendable.

The fifth athlete who can be a part of the squad is Marquise Goodwin. He is an American football wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. With this, he carries a commendable background in the tracks. He is an Olympian who competed in the long jump in track and field. With his expertise in this event, he won two national college championships.

Marquise also represented the United States at the 2008 IAAF World Junior Championships, the IAAF World Championships held in 2011, the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the 2015 Pan American Games. After his career in the tracks, he has made his name in the football realm. All these players can come together in one team for the LA28 and deliver a golden performance for the newly added flag football.
