On 16th September, Sha’Carri Richardson was spotted going with her natural hair on the tracks. The athlete, who is usually spotted in bright braids or her iconic orange wig, decided to choose Flo-Jo’s fashion statement and went to show off her natural hair on the tracks. Interestingly, after the match, a video of the athlete talking about her performance while showing off her curly hair was uploaded on YouTube.

In the video, the 23-year-old LSU sensation, who had a positive reaction despite facing disappointment in her homeland, told the media, “I know where I’ve come from and I know where I’m going.”I would say I am thankful because I know everything that I have done has not come from nothing.”

Further, while talking about approaching the Olympic season, Richardson told the media, “I am approaching the season as determined as I can be, as happy as I can be, and knowing that everybody is going to bring their A-game, so it just makes me want to bring my best as well.”

This video came after Sha’Carri Richardson was defeated by her on-track rival, Shericka Jackson, in the 100-meter final of the Diamond League. The 23-year-old finished the race fourth.

On September 16th, Sha’Carri Richardson was all set for a fierce showdown in the Hayward field. However, she lost the 100m heat and ended her season without lifting the Diamond League trophy.

The American sprinting icon finished the race fourth by clocking 10.80 seconds, while the first position was secured by Jamaican sprint queen Shericka Jackson, who finished the race in 10.70 seconds, followed by Marie-Josee Ta Lou in 10.75 seconds.

The third position was secured by the Jamaican prodigy, Elaine Thompson-Herah, in 10.79 seconds.
