Following similar lines, an Italian High Jumper has also kept it fresh at the World Athletics championship. The 31-year-old Gianmarco Tamberi made the heads turn with his refreshing and unique one-sided beard whilst clinching gold at the event. Now, weeks after the event, Tamberi has once again hit the headlines. The athlete was spotted showing his talent on the Formula 1 race tracks in Italy.

Track and field sensation shows off his skill on race tracks
On September 3rd, an avid track and field follower posted a video of Gianmarco Tamberi on Twitter showing off his jumping skills in a unique way. In the video captioned “Two of my favorite things: track and field and Formula 1,” the Italian athlete was seen clearing an F1 car before the highly anticipated Grand Prix held in Monza. In the video, the F1 fans were also spotted cheering for Tamberi as he showcased his talent on the Formula 1 track.

Interestingly, this video comes only days after Tamberi struck his magic in the 2023 World Athletics Championship by winning his first world high jump title. The Olympic athlete, who also possesses dominance over the European Outdoor Championship, stood atop the podium at Budapest with the joint-best jump of this year.

Gianmarco’s staunch achievement at the Worlds
After soaring to fame for sharing the gold with the world’s second-highest jumper, Mutaz Essa Barshim, at the Big Games, on 22 August, Tamberi once again showcased his potential in Budapest. While representing Italy, the athlete crossed the bar with a height of 2.36 meters and clinched the gold with the joint-best jump of 2023. On the other hand, JuVaughn Harrison, who created history in the last Olympics by becoming the first U.S. athlete to participate in both the long jump and high jump since 1912, clinched silver at the Worlds. The 24-year-old athlete, who cleared with a height of 2.36m as well, faced a few setbacks during the counter back and had to settle for silver at the event.
After the game, stoked Tamberi, who was spotted celebrating the win with Soufiane El Bakkali, told the media, “It’s crazy. It’s an indescribable feeling. I have been rewarded for all the sacrifices made. Further, while showing his gratitude towards his father, who was also his coach until last year, Tamberi told the media, “The gold is also thanks to my father.”
