The world is currently abuzz with speculation about who’s reigning on top, Noah Lyles or Christian Coleman. It’s been a day since the USATF Indoor Championships closed its gates, and there’s already a rush of excitement for the next. Edging out Coleman by 0.01, Lyles sprinted to the 60m victory in 6.43s. Another 60m win came from the New Balance Grand Prix, which also was a threepeat for him.

But since his strongest adversary Coleman is sitting with the 60m indoor world record with 6.34s, it will be a moment of a lifetime if he outpaces that. To stir the internet and bring fans to the edge of their seats, 4x Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson has the statement of the century.

In response to the NBC Olympics and Paralympics’ post that screamed the secondary goal of both the track titans, Johnson issued the most sought-after statement. Resorting to his X handle, he captioned the reshare as, “That’s the #2 goal. They both have the same #1 goal. Become World Champion in Glasgow. But only one can be World Champ. Rematch!” Now, when we have the 2nd goal, what’s the first? The original post of NBC has the answer. “Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman made their World Championship goals CLEAR… “Domination.”  Lyles confidently stated, “USA, the best in the world”.

The 2023 World Championships’ treble maker has been in top form since last August. Even now, he’s unwilling to break his winning streak. But some bonds only look to enhance each other’s performances like that of the first benchers in a class. “If I hadn’t faced Christian so many times, I couldn’t boost my confidence enough”, Noah Lyles continued. But there’s a technical issue that keeps coming up, which can bar us from witnessing a spectacle in Glasgow.

Michael Johnson addressed the less talked-about

Amidst Coleman and Lyles’s electrifying rivalry on the show, there was Grant Holloway with his new WR in 60m hurdles. But his 17th February run for glory was missing in the streaming platforms, which brewed frustration, especially in Johnson. His X post read, “Athlete breaks WR, promptly gets on Twitter pleading for someone to find it. Because it was not on any mainstream TV or streaming. W-T-F?”

Holloway’s post read, “Someone find my race. Right now”. Despite breaking his record with 7″27, the 3x World Champion walked home dissatisfied. As the World Athletics Indoor nears, all eyes are on the track artists to paint magic. But we hope there’s no streaming disruption this time.
