On September 16, NBC dropped the second episode of the Noah Lyles documentary series, Untitled: The Noah Lyles Project. In the highly anticipated episode, the world champion talked about the health issues he faced in childhood and his historic triple-win at the 2023 World Athletics Championship. But, there was an additional catch presented.

Interestingly, apart from showing the fans a glimpse of Lyle’s life behind the scenes, the second episode also had a special appearance from the athlete’s mentor, Usain Bolt. Betwixt Lyle’s ambition for reaching the pinnacle on the 200-meter tracks, the G.O.A.T. of the track and field left an important message for the 26-year-old, with only nine months before the Paris Olympics.

Usain Bolt leaves a message for Noah Lyles

For the past few years, Noah Lyes has been paving his way towards achieving one title: The American sprinter who broke Usain Bolt’s 200-meter (19.19) record. Amid this ambition towards breaking the record, in the newly released episode of Untitled: The Noah Lyles Project, Usain Bolt shared his powerful wisdom, and advice for Lyles before the Paris Olympics in 2024.

The Jamaican sprinter, while highlighting the determination that is needed to break the record, stated, “The chances are always there. I mean, it’s going to take a lot more work and determination. I’ll always say anything is possible; don’t take limits, but I didn’t make it easy, so it’s not going to be a walkover; it’s not going to be a cake run, so all I can do is wish him all the best.

Interestingly, this message came after Noah Lyles failed to keep his promise of breaking the record at the World Athletics Championship. The 26-year-old American athlete clinched his gold at the 200m finals of the 2023 Worlds by storming through the track in 19.52 seconds, 33 seconds apart from Bolt’s record. Lastly, Bolt’s legacy continues to remain strong even after 14 years, as Noah decided not to aim to break the record at the Diamond League finals. The 26-year-old tried to show off his skill on the 100-meter tracks of Oregon instead.

Noah Lyles  not aiming for Bolt’s record

In the last battle of the season, many fans expected Noah Lyles to attempt to break Usain Bolt’s’ record. However, things took a different route when the newly crowned world champion decided not to join the forces of Erriyon Knighton to participate in the 200-meter finals. Instead, on September 16, Lyles participated against Letsile Tebogo in the 100-meter Diamond League finals. The athlete finished his season by clinching the second position after clocking in 9.85 seconds, while his teammate, Christian Coleman, uplifted the Diamond League trophy by storming through the 100m track in 9.83 seconds.
