Sha’Carri Richardson is ready to face team Jamaica one last time. In her previous race, the athlete surpassed her Jamaican track and field rival, Elaine Thompson-Herah, to win the Zurich Diamond League in 10.88 seconds. Thompson-Herah was edged out by her teammate, Natasha Morrison, and was forced to settle for the third position by clocking in at 11.0 seconds.

Following this event, the two athletes will be again facing each other at the Diamond League Finals, which are to be held from September 16–17 on the tracks of Oregon. Interestingly, before this highly anticipated race, fans of Sha’Carri Richardson sent an update to Elaine Thompson-Herah.

100M Diamond League finals

On September 13, Travis Miller announced the 100-meter women’s finalist on X. According to the tweet captioned “Eugene DL entries: women’s 100m,” at Diamond League which will be broadcast live in the USA via NBC and Peacock. Sha’Carri Richardson will join the forces of Twanisha Terry to secure a win for Team USA. Whereas, 200-meter world champion Shericka Jackson, Natasha Morrison, and five-time Olympian Elaine Thompson-Herah will represent team Jamaica on the 100m tracks. The final event will also feature Kiwi athlete Zoe Hobbs and the UK’s Dina Asher-Smith.

Interestingly, this race comes days after Elaine Thompson-Herah made a staunch comeback at the Brussels Diamond League. The Jamaican athlete gave her best performance of the season at the event by storming through the racks in 10.84 seconds.
