Recently, Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcarz’s on-court rival, Francis Tiafoe, also revealed his passion for athletics. While showing a special interest in the 100-meter race tracks, the athlete hinted at following in the footsteps of Fred Kerley.

Francis Tiafoe follows in the footsteps of Fred Kerley
Recently, Francis Tiafoe – the youngest American athlete to win a tournament on the ATPS Tour – revealed his passion for the world of track and field. In an interview with GQ, while talking about his real diet, the US tennis player who keeps himself fit through running was asked if he watched the World Championships. The 26-year-old, who showed an appreciation towards the track and field athletes, told the media, “A bit. It’s crazy that they’re able to do it. It really is sensational.”
Interestingly, in the interview Tiafoe, who would choose the 100-meter track event to be his specialty, was also aligned with 100-meter American sprinter Fred Kereley. The 25-year-old tennis player who seemed to be agreeing with this comparison added, “Yeah, yeah. I can do it one time; maybe do it in about 14 to 16 seconds.”

Lastly, while acknowledging the efforts of the athletes participating in the 800m races, Tiafoe stated, “Those guys in the 800s? Hell no. I’m good with that.” Interestingly, apart from Tiafoe another tennis legend was also recently spotted enjoying athletics. On Thursday, Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer made a surprise visit to the stadium of the Zurich Diamond League.

Roger Federer spotted at track and field event
After a month-long hiatus, the Diamond League is up and running. The highly anticipated 11th round of the event was held in the largest city of Switzerland, Zurich. And joining the forces of millions of track and field enthusiasts, tennis legend Roger Federer was spotted in the stadium. Amid the presence of the legend, enjoying the event in his homeland, US track and field star Noah Lyles geared up his spikes to bring home a win in the 200-meter race event.
