Almost every year they surprise the internet with their more than perfect Halloween costumes.

However, the one from 2018 turned the most heads as they showed up as track and field athletes Florence Joyner and Tommie Smith. This costume won the hearts of track and field enthusiasts and now, after 5 years, this throwback is again making waves on the internet attaining the same amount of love it did back then.

This throwback from 2018 has again hit the internet this year.

An Olympic medalist Rori Dunk shared this gem of a throwback on his X account, giving the athletics enthusiast something to be proud of. He shared a few pictures that inculcated the couple and the athletes they were dressed as. The caption to it carried, “It’s Halloween and it is a great time to bring back this throwback of Jay Z and Beyonce dressed up as track athletes Tommie Smith and Florence Joyner”. This couple dressing up as the athletes was one of the best things of 2018 and it is still the same in 2023.

Queen Bey’s and Tommie Smith’s tribute to the track athletes

Paying tribute to the fastest woman ever recorded and the unbeatable Florence Joyner, the American singer, wore a one-legged leotard that almost replicated the one that Flo-Jo wore at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Her costume also consisted of long and vibrant acrylic nails, exactly like the ones that Flo-Jo became famous for.

Jay-Z, on the other hand, wore a tracksuit with a raised hand, just like Smith did at the 1968 Summer Olympics. The couple also got recognition from the daughter of Griffith-Joyner’s daughter, Mary Joyner, who expressed her gratitude on Instagram for the American stars paying tribute to the track athletes.
