The World Athletics Awards is nearing December 2023. As a prelude to the ultimate star-studded night, the finalists, for almost all the categories, have been announced. On the 13th of November, the finalists for the Women’s World Athlete of the Year were announced. To everyone’s surprise, the fastest woman on earth, Sha’carri Richardson, wasn’t there. She was one of the 11 nominees but couldn’t make it to the finals. To make things worse for Richardson, her fierce Jamaican rival, Shericka Jackson once again dished out disappointment for her by making it to the finals.

However, Richardson ever since has shown nothing but sportsman spirit. Two days after the announcement, she shared an update on her social media that oozes out nothing but motivation. It seems like the American track and field sensation is not stopping after facing another defeat to Shericka Jackson and is aiming high to achieve more goals.

It is not immediately clear what exactly Richardson is referring to, but it seems that after missing out on the World Athletics honor, she will now work harder on herself to accomplish new remarkable feats. She was left behind by the five finalists, Shericka Jackson, Tigist Assefa, Faith Kipyegon, Yulimar Rojas, and Femke Bol. Meanwhile, the finalists for the Men’s World Athlete of the Year have also been released.
