While the 2024 track and field season may be over, Hunter Woodhall’s streak of success continues to shine. The Paris 2024 Paralympics gold medalist graced the star-studded lineup at GQ’s Men of the Year 2024 award show. But the 25-year-old wasn’t the only track and field star turning heads—Woodhall arrived with his wife, Olympic gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall.

100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles also represented the sport on the GQ floor. However, it was Hunter Woodhall who walked away with a special honor. “GQ’s Sexiest Man of the Year as a Supportive Partner. Translation: Trophy Husband,” the Paralympian joked on Instagram. However, the track and field star didn’t have any idea he would be in for a nasty surprise in the morning.
Among the multiple Instagram posts and stories, Hunter Woodhall uploaded a span of his banged-up picked-up truck. A large section of the tail light, bodywork, and bumper had senior scratches and some deformity. While the taillight didn’t break, the glass looked scratched beyond repair. “Dang! Valet didn’t go well last night,” wrote Hunter Woodhall in his Instagram story.

The five-time Paralympic medalist just showed the damaged right side of his pickup. However, the visible GMC logo meant that it was one of the Sierra lineup of trucks. However, the model of the truck won’t matter much as the extensive body panel, tail light, and bumper damage mean it would be an expensive affair to repair or replace.

Yet, Hunter Woodhall didn’t seem too serious about the incident, he posted two laughing emojis alongside his caption. Perhaps, the U.S. Paralympic icon was in a celebratory mood as he shared the highlights from GQ’s America rodeo-themed Men of the Year event. The athlete did not shy away from posting images with the woman who helped him earn the honor.

How Hunter Woodhall supported Tara Davis-Woodhall’s Olympic dream
Hunter and Tara Davis-Woodhall arrived at the GQ’s Men of the Year awards dressed in country-inspired outfits. The track and field power couple sported matching navy blue denim outfits as well as matching red bandanas. The Paralympic gold medalist was quick to thank everyone who voted for him. “Thanks for all the votes and love,” wrote the 25-year-old.
“Was cool for us little country kids to feel Hollywood. Thanks @gq #GQMOTY,” added the World Championships silver medalist. However, there was a good reason why the track and field community voted for the Paralympian to outshine Noah Lyles. Hunter Woodhall has stood by Tara Davis-Woodhall like a rock, ever missing a chance to admire his wife.

Besides pushing and keeping one another accountable in training, Hunter Woodhall believed in the high jumper special even when no one did. The sprinter praised the Olympic gold medalist even when he won his first gold medal. “To my wife. I couldn’t do this alone. You built me up and kept me accountable. You believed in me, and helped me grow.” wrote Hunter Woodhall.

After winning the biggest achievement of his life, the Paralympian gave credit to Tara Davis-Woodhall. “You taught me how to enjoy the moment. You showed me how to be a competitor. We did it.” the Paralympian wrote on threads after winning gold in Paris. And this was just the most recent example among the countless times Woodhall has done the same. So it’s not surprising that he would be the man to Supportive Partner.
