The track and field stars finally clashed in the first biggest event of the year. The USATF Golden Games saw the likes of Elaine Thompson-Herah, Fred Kerley, Gabrielle Thomas, and other Olympic trailblazers step on the field.
Coming back to the 2022 season, expectations were high for the world’s fastest woman live, Elaine Thompson-Herah. However, despite a stunning run in heat one, Elaine took a shocking DNS in the finals.

Elaine Thompson-Herah misses the 100m podium
The 2021 season was the golden year for Jamaican star, Elaine Thompson-Herah. As she entered the USATF Golden Games, she was the fan favorite to dominate the 100m race.
Notably, in the first heat of the women’s 100m, Elaine had an exceptional start clocking a time of 10.89 seconds.

As she set the bar so high, she was the predicted winner in the finals. However, in the finals of the 100m, the world’s fastest woman took a shocking DNS. According to the sources, Elaine had taken the decision because of the unexpected wind situation.
Team USA Cleans Sweeps 100m event
As Elaine missed the finals race, team USA athletes took over the 100m event. The 23-year-old, Twanisha Terry, clinched the race with 10.77 seconds. Following her were also team USA women, Gabrielle Thomas, at 10.86 seconds, and Teahna Daniels at 10.91 seconds.
It was a successful day at the field for Gabrielle Thomas, who also secured the first position in the 200m event, clocking the time of 22.02 seconds. While in the men’s event, the versatile king Fred Kerley won the 200m race with 19.80 seconds leaving behind Michael Norman and Rai Benjamin at 19.83 seconds and 20.01 seconds.

While Elaine couldn’t win this race, it’s just the start of the 2022 season. Her biggest rivals, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Sha’Carri Richardson were also absent from the race.
