Sometimes people make remarks that may not be in their best interest. Usain Bolt faced a similar predicament when he commented on the state of soccer in Australia. Following his statements, soccer fans in the country were not too delighted.

Among those displeased with Bolt’s remark was Australian television presenter Lucy Zelic. She is also the younger sister of former soccer player Ned Zelic.

Lucy Zelic challenges Usain Bolt to score more goals than a legend

Lucy Zelic has always been an ardent critique of Bolt. When the sprinter retired from track and field events, he tried signing a deal with A-League Australian club, Central Coast Mariners. However, Zelic was not too excited over the prospect of Bolt entering the club.

Even then, she profusely emphasized the athlete’s lack of skills to play professionally in the sport. To highlight the issue, she even drew parallels with local legends in the sport.

At one point, Zelic said“If Usain Bolt starts in the A-League in a professional game and by the end of the season scores more goals than Keisuke Honda, an absolute legend of the game, I will shave my head.”

To stress her point, she added, “If that happens I will actually physically shave my head.”

Honda is a Japanese soccer player who has made his mark in the sport on the international front. He is a prominent figure in the soccer community. Moreover, he has played for countries including Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Azerbaijan.

When Zelic challenged Bolt to score more goals than Honda, the soccer star was playing for an A-league Australian club. However, Zelic did not have to make good on her part of the bargain, as Bolt’s dream to represent an A-league team never took off.

The Olympian represented the club for two pre-season matches. He even scored a couple of goals during this time. However, after a year of trials proved futile in striking the deal he wanted, Bolt decided to leave and “moved on.”
