Triads were secret, organized crime societies in and around China. As a tenacious teenager, The Little Phoenix got into a fit with the son of a local gang leader. Another theory suggests that it was not the Hong Kong triads but Chinese gangs that wanted to uproot Lee. His roaring success in movies at an international scale threatened the local Mandarin movies. Amidst the rising insecurity concerning their narrowing future and falling business, they conspired to get Lee killed. Besides, there is a theory of a curse that led to Lee’s death at such a young age.
A curse on males in Bruce Lee’s family

Connecting Lee’s death with the death of a male child born before Lee, it is speculated that a family curse purportedly inflicted its effect on males in the family. The originators of the theory also looked to legitimize the unfortunate death of Lee’s 28-year-old son on grounds of unfounded male-hunting voodoo practices.
