Possible return to sports for Carli Lloyd

On Friday, 3rd December, the US Soccer Board of Directors had their quarterly meeting. It was decided that there would be a national women’s futsal team from 2022.

Futsal is like a mini version of football. It is played on a hard court and is an indoor sport. The area is much smaller than an actual football pitch. The game consists of 5 players on each team.

Retired professional football player Carli Lloyd retweeted the news. “Is this for retired players?” asked Lloyd. While football is a much more serious game than futsal, this could be a good opportunity for retired players who still love to play.

Lloyd’s tweet could be the hint for a possible return. Moreover, she had made it clear that she wanted to start a family with her husband and now was the right time.

Meanwhile, Lloyd’s fans were very happy after this tweet. They wasted no time in encouraging her and telling her to go for it.

Even though the sport might not be that popular, fans tweeted that they are sure as hell watch it if Lloyd was playing. Lloyd is considered the GOAT of women’s football, and for sure she can do whatever she wants!

However, a netizen also tweeted that Lloyd should take her well-deserved vacation first before diving into sports again.

Carli Lloyd’s comeback will be awaited by the entire sports world. She was the one who scored the winning goals for the US national team 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, grabbing the Gold Medal twice. There is no doubt that if she joins futsal, she will be the one scoring the goals.
