Who doesn’t love a little sports crossover action? And when it’s volleyball colliding with the Super Bowl? Now that’s a must-watch! On one side, you’ve got the unstoppable Lexi Rodriguez and her squad, and on the other, Kansas City and Philadelphia are battling it out, with Philly dominating the halftime scoreboard at 24-0. And taking center stage for the halftime show? None other than the lyrical genius himself, Kendrick Lamar. But wait—Lexi and her team aren’t just passive observers; they are also predicting their own moments for Kendrick’s grand performance.

Lexi Rodriguez hopped on TikTok just hours before kickoff, bringing some pre-game hype with a little friendly team guessing game. With Kendrick Lamar set to light up the halftime stage, she turned to her teammates with the ultimate question: “What do you think the opening song for Kendrick is gonna be?” And just like that, the predictions started rolling in.

One by one, her squad threw their guesses into the mix. “I think it’s gonna be Humble.” Another teammate jumped in, “I think it’s gonna be Love.” Someone couldn’t resist rapping along, “I got, I got, I got, I got loyalty. Got loyalty.” And then came, “Every time I’m in the street. Yeah, yeah.” followed by “Luther. If This World Was Mine.”

But what about Lexi herself? Well, she wasn’t too sure about the opening track, but she had a strong feeling about the grand finale, saying, “I don’t know what the opening is gonna be, but I think his closing is gonna be Not Like Us.” And to wrap it all up, one last teammate called it: “I think he’s gonna start with All the Stars.” With so many wild predictions, the only thing left to do was sit back and see who nailed it!

The performance kicked off with him teasing an unreleased song – referred to as Tiramisu or Bodies by fans – before transitioning into a set of consecutive chart-toppers. He gave the crowd Squabble Up, and then Humble, his first solo hit to top the Billboard Hot 100.

And guess what? It was not only Kendrick Lamar who was setting the stage on fire; he had none other than a tennis star, Serena Williams, with him! And you know what else? So, Lexi Rodriguez was right; Kendrick did indeed perform Not Like Us! But she got the order a little wrong though, as the diss track was the penultimate song that the Pulitzer Prize winner performed. The last song? TV Off.

But while the NFL world was focused on this exciting moment, Lexi Rodriguez also had quite an exciting moment of her own as well!

Lexi Rodriguez has a moment of her own!

It was a showdown for the books as LOVB Omaha and LOVB Salt Lake faced each other at the Maverik Center, but everyone was waiting for the moment when Lexi Rodriguez would step onto the court. There are already some stars in the Omaha team such as Jordan Larson, and Justine Wong-Orantes, both of whom are Olympic gold medalists and former Huskers. But on 9th February? This was about the time when the young libero was to take the central stage.

After what felt like forever, Rodriguez’s pro debut kept getting pushed in favor of other stars, but the fans never stopped rooting for her. And when she finally stepped onto that court? She made it count. Her first ace as a professional volleyball player wasn’t just a highlight—it was a statement. Omaha was able to scrape through in a 3-2 match and Lexi’s serve was instrumental in deciding the match. But if you ask her? She will say that it was not all her and that there were other people who contributed towards the success of her game.

After the game, Lexi went to Instagram and shared a snippet from the game, hyping up the person she credits for her serving skills. “@kennediorr taught me everything i know,” she wrote, shouting out the volleyball star and serving specialist Kennedi Orr, her former Nebraska teammate of four seasons. So while Lexi might have delivered the ace, it’s safe to say this win had a little extra Nebraska magic behind it!
