The Texan Longhorns Volleyball team is currently beaming with pride after the exceptional accomplishment of their former member, Logan Eggleston. She has now moved to Turkey to play for Galatasaray in the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League after playing five seasons of college volleyball for the Texas Longhorns.

This staunch volleyball player was named as the 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year recently and the entire volleyball community is clapping for her. Another wholesome thing that grabbed the attention of people was the special message of Texas Longhorns’ head coach, Jerritt Elliott.

Texas Longhorns head coach acknowledges Eggleston’s contribution 

Logan Eggleston is the first Texas Longhorns student-athlete to be honored by this award ever since it was established. She won this award on the 11th of January 2024 at Phoenix at the celebration of the top 30 honorees. This award was accepted by Eggleston’s parents as she had prior commitments. The NCAA shared a video of Elliott with the caption, “Head Coach @jerrittelliott of @TexasVolleyball shares a message to the 2023 Woman of the Year @loganeggleston_!”

Elliott stated in the video, “What I’ve been telling her whole career, she’s super special. She’s done so much for the University of Texas…She’s been a big part of my life and will ever forever be a part of that. And I’m just so proud of her for what she’s done and accomplished and the work she’s put into it.

Eggleston was more than grateful to receive this honor from the University where she started her career in 2018. With a duration of five years at Texas Longhorns, she has proved her dominance by attaining a plethora of accolades. After this win expressed her feelings that showcased her love for this university.

After winning the prestigious title for herself and the Texas Longhorns, she expressed her emotions about the same. She stated, “It was such an honor to be nominated.” She further added, “There are so many amazing student-athletes across the country who are going through their own journeys and their own hardships and finding ways to power through, find success, and just grow as people.”

She also mentioned that she is extremely honored to be even considered for the award. Before this, during her association with Texas Longhorns, Eggleston was also given the title of the NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player and the 2022 AVCA National Player of the Year.
