Women’s volleyball in the USA is more popular than ever before. With games recording more and more footfall every time, volleyball is attracting throngs of new players from every part of the country. In parallel to that, the competition is also getting more intense for a spot on the collegiate teams. Amidst such circumstances, one national sensation and Nebraska Huskers icon has a few words of advice for the newcomers into the fold.

In a recent social media post, the Huskers’ Women’s volleyball captain is seen sharing words of wisdom for the young fans. While she is one of the most prolific student-athletes in the country, her suggestions come from a place of rich experience and knowledge.

Huskers libero Lexi Rodriguez has had a stellar last season. She received Academic Big-Ten honors in 2023 and was also pivotal in the Huskers’ NCAA run. While the Nebraska team reached the national finals without many stumbles on the way, they were handed a stunning defeat by the Texas Longhorns in their final match. And yet, Rodriguez’s season wasn’t a slump all the way. In the latest Instagram post, Lexi can be heard giving her two cents to young and aspiring volleyball players.

In the post shared by the official No Ezy Buckets account, of which Rodriguez is a proud member, the Huskers libero talks about how to stay focused. The biggest tip that Lexi had to share was, “Believe in yourself“. Lexi revealed that trusting in their abilities and skills is the one thing that will help young athletes progress their careers in their desired direction.

She also said that their positions are mostly prompted by the athletes’ failures and their stats. Hence, said the star Husky, it’s important to enjoy the game as much as possible. Finding the fun in the most frustrating moments will help players find satisfaction in their roles on the court. Rodriguez’s optimism seems not unfounded with the current widespread popularity of the sport across the country.
