The Nebraska Huskers Women’s Volleyball Team recently suffered the first loss of its storied 2023 season. Despite the defeat, the Nebraska Huskers are still hot on their toes. They still retain their number-one rank in both the Big Ten and the NCAA. In fact, they are already laced up and facing the final opponents of their season, the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

However, as the Huskers made their way to their next match against Minnesota, something felt amiss. A social media post pointed out the absence of Nebraska’s star player, Lindsay Krause. What does this mean and why was Krause made to sit the match out?

The Nebraska Huskers Women’s Volleyball Team has shown one of the most fierce offensive gameplays in the 2023 season. The Huskers have flattened several opponents via clean sweeps, including powerhouse teams like Penn State. Outside hitter, Lindsay Krause makes up a significant part of the Huskers’ arsenal, which lays waste to the defense of their rivals. Prior to the beginning of the Nebraska versus Minnesota match, a tweet on X reported Krause’s absence from the court. The tweet carried the caption, “Despite practicing this morning, Lindsay Krause is not dressed for tonight’s match against Minnesota.”

So far, no explicit reasoning has been issued by the Nebraska Huskers for this unexpected development. The Big Ten Champions will retain their numero uno spot in the conference even if Minnesota somehow manages to pull off an upset. Does this mean that the Nebraska Huskers are trying to reserve their explosive outside hitter for the playoffs? This is the second time Krause will be missing a match since her injury back in October.
