Nebraska Huskers cripple Missouri’s offense

Nebraska Volleyball boasted about the victory of its women’s team with a quirky tweet on its X handle. The tweet carried the caption, “Feeling grrreat!” The Nebraska Huskers completely dismantled the offensive machinery of Missouri in their 2-December Matchup. In fact, the Tigers could only manage to crawl past the 20-point mark just once throughout the game.

The Nebraska Huskers won the game with scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-21. Interestingly, apart from the first set dip Mizzou faced, it still managed to put up identical stats on the scoreboard. However, the defensive effort of the Nebraska Huskers ensured that the offense of the Tigers always remained under their control.

Creating an insurmountable roadblock for the Tigers

The Nebraska Huskers dominated the flow of the game on the volleyball court via their high number of blocks. While Missouri posted just five blocks in the match, the Nebraska Huskers silenced down 14 kill attempts of the Tigers. This greatly impacted the performance of the Missouri Tigers.

In fact, their offense got so weak that they could only manage a hit rate of 0.089 throughout the match. While Missouri tried to recover from the offensive arrest it was in, it was too late by the time they found their rhythm. Thus, even their final set performance, where they diligently scored 18 kills, fell short of both a victory and recognition.
