Nebraska has been on the top of spectators’ lists since the beginning of the Big Ten Championships this season. The team gave tough competition to the top-seed team Wisconsin and clinched the Big Ten Volleyball Championship 2023 title. Nebraska also qualified for the ongoing NCAA Tournament with the Big Ten Championship title.

Recently, team Nebraska faced off Long Island University in the first round of the NCAA. Team Nebraska not only made it to the top 16 but also knocked off the opponent team Long Island with a clean sweep 3-0.

Nebraska lives up to its name

After winning the Big Ten Championship title, Nebraska is seeking for the NCAA tournament this season. Along the same lines, Nebraska’s volleyball team is also seeking redemption from Wisconsin Badgers. In the concluding match at Big Ten, Wisconsin defeated team Nebraska by 3-0. Therefore, the recent match was a great opportunity for Nebraska’s volleyball team to proceed forward in the tournament. The recent post shared by Nebraska’s volleyball was captioned, ” Just keep Swimming”

In the first set of the match, Nebraska dominated the opponent team, LIU, by securing a 25-13. Although team LIU tried everything to stop Nebraska, team Nebraska secured the following sets to count a win at the match. In the last two sets, Nebraska secured a win by 16-25 and 22-25.

Furthermore, Nebraska’s Huskers also added the second to its undefeated streak of two matches at the NCAA Tournament. With the help of combined efforts, Nebraska not only secured a place in the upcoming top 16 showdown but also knocked off LIU from the NCAA.

Nebraska Husker’s dominating performance

Some of Nebraska’s top players performed exceptionally well to keep up with the expectations. While Merritt Beason recorded an individual score of 15 points and a remarkable hitting percentage of .478 percent, Bergen Reilly contributed 6.5 points to the team’s total. In the entire match, Nebraska delivered 44 kills in comparison to only 28 by LIU.

Some other outperforming players include Maggie Mendelson, who scored 8 points, and Harper Murray, who scored 11.5 points. Overall, Nebraska’s volleyball team played well today, but they need to gear up for the upcoming matches at NCAA. Will team Nebraska be able to clinch the NCAA Tournament this season?
