The Nebraska Huskers women’s volleyball team has looked in top shape throughout the 2023 NCAA season. Currently ranked at number two in the league, they have carried themselves forward with an unbeaten season campaign. Nebraska’s opponents haven’t been able to figure out the secret of their strength. However, their coaches just gave away the extra ingredient that makes the Huskers so special.

The Nebraska Huskers recently registered another clean sweep to take their sweep streak to four and win streak to 18. A recently uploaded video on social media revealed the element that strengthens the team of Nebraska. In fact, the coaches ended up saying the shining element on Nebraska’s side may as well be the “Taylor Swift of Volleyball.”

Taylor Swift of Volleyball bolsters the power of Nebraska Huskers

The Nebraska Huskers have shown great offensive and defensive capabilities on the court to overwhelm their opponents. In their most recent matchup against Northwestern Wildcats, the Huskers heavily outscored their opponents. Moreover, the Wildcats couldn’t even score 20 points in their first two sets. According to a video tweeted by the Huskers Radio Network, the Nebraska women are being coached by a legendary US volleyball star.

The tweet carried the caption, “The equivalent of having Jordan Larson as a volleyball coach is being in a band and having Taylor Swift come in and coach you.” Jordan Larson is a reigning Olympic gold medalist and a former Nebraska Husker who recently joined Nebraska’s coaching staff. Larson recently helped Team USA bag a ticket to Paris and will enter her fourth straight Olympics in 2024. 

Larson already has Olympic medals of all colors on her resume and she is all set to help the US take another gold in Paris. The coaches also said that with Taylor Swift of volleyball on their side, the Huskers now have multiple offensive options. With this, the Huskers are all girded up to play their biggest match of the season.

The battle for the numero uno spot, Nebraska versus Wisconsin

The women’s volleyball match between the Nebraska Huskers and the Wisconsin Badgers is one of the league’s most-awaited matches. Both teams have shown exceptional consistency in their discipline and haven’t been defeated by any other side so far. But, their next match will register the first loss of any one of the sides, with one team standing on top. Both teams have exceptional offense and defense and have registered multiple clean sweeps in their campaign.

However, Wisconsin retains the number one spot because of their 30 straight-set victories in the season. While Wisconsin has a stronger edge, Nebraska has an ace in their coaching staff as well. Both teams will battle each other for the numero uno spot on 21st October at 7:00 PM CDT. Will 2022 defending champ Wisconsin be able to hold on to its throne? Or will Nebraska be successful in its coup?
