Nebraska Huskers Women’s Volleyball Register Third Straight Clean Sweep to Establish Indomitable Position in NCAA

The Nebraska Huskers women’s volleyball team has been cruising the 2023 NCAA season at an unstoppable pace. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln team delivered yet another power-packed performance to tower over longtime rivals Penn State Nittany Lions. Interestingly, the Huskers pounded down the Lions without conceding even a single set.

Nebraska Huskers are in a very comfortable position right now. Ranked at number two in the NCAA, they trampled the Nittany Lions ranked at number 13 to register a clean sweep. The Huskers’ strong offense, defense, and impeccable teamwork allowed them to claim a third straight clean sweep. In fact, this was the 10th wipeout registered by the highly explosive volleyball team of Nebraska.

The Nebraska Huskers are in an unstoppable winning frenzy and have dominated every single team they have faced so far. The rank two team faced Penn State Nittany Lions in another great matchup of their shining 2023 NCAA season. Despite the stark difference in the rankings of both teams, Penn State put up a great fight against the Huskers. A clip of the highly competitive match’s climax was posted on X by Big Ten Volleyball.

The tweet carried the caption, “No. 2 @HuskerVB sweeps No. 13 Penn State – their 3rd straight sweep in the series vs. the Nittany Lions.” The video showed the Huskers deliver the final blow before engulfing each other in a big team hug. The Huskers triumphed over one of the best Big Ten teams with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19. With this victory, the Huskers volleyball team dominates the head-to-head record with a staunch lead of 27-11.

The big win against Penn State marked the 10th clean sweep for Nebraska Huskers in 2023. Moreover, this was their 17 straight victory in their unbeaten NCAA campaign so far. A big reason behind this sharp edge of Nebraska probably lies in its mental health program. In fact, the highly effective program is headed by a former Nebraska Huskers women’s volleyball team captain.

Focus on mental health holds the key

Recently, the head of operations of the Nebraska Huskers women’s volleyball, Lindsay Peterson spoke about a mental health program for players. The former Nebraska Huskers captain revealed in a podcast episode that the program targets the problematic areas faced by students. This included prevention of several pitfalls, managing academics along with volleyball, and dealing with mental blockers both on and off the court.

Lindsay Peterson also said that the program prevents the students from losing confidence, which is usually the first thing to fall. The experienced volleyball player and head of operations also unveiled the recruitment of several talented staff members for the program. The unmatched skill of the Huskers, combined with 10 clean sweeps and zero losses, is proof of the program’s effectiveness. With their 17th win in the bag, the Huskers will now look to clinch the number 1 NCAA spot from Wisconsin.
