This Year’s NCAA Tournament is already taking unexpected turns. While half of the volleyball teams were given NCAA Berth through automatic qualification, the screening committee gave another criterion for selecting the other half of the teams. Nearly 32 teams were automatically qualified to compete in the championships. Soon after these qualifications end, volleyball spectators anticipate the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Notably, the SEC is leading all the conferences with the help of its eight teams, followed by seven programs, including Big 10 and Big 12, each earning five representatives. On the first day of the event, team Penn State will be competing with the opponent Yale’s volleyball team on the Kansas Turf tomorrow.

Penn State volleyball travels to Kansas

The 7 times NCAA Champions are on board and looking forward to reaching their destination, Horejsi Arena Lawrence, Kansas. Being seven times NCAA Volleyball Champions, Penn State is among the most anticipated teams at the tournament. As per the recent tweet by Penn State Women’s Volleyball, it was captioned as, “Kansas bound  It’s tourney time!

Even though no predictions can be made about the winning team among the two, all the teams competing in the tournament will get a single chance to either break it or make it. Among Penn State vs. Yale, only one team will get the chance to perform at the next level, while the defeated team will be disqualified from performing ahead. However, Penn State is one of many teams competing on Day 1. 

Teams locking horns on Day 1

In the first region, upper left or Lincoln, seven teams will be performing on Day 1, including Nebraska vs. Long Island University. In the second region, Palo Alto or upper right, another seven participating teams will compete to participate in the next showdown. On the other hand, Madison’s upper right and Pittsburg’s lower left will feature seven teams each.

The good and bad part about the schedule of the NCAA Tournament is its single matches, where each participating team gets a single attempt to knock off their opponent to participate at the next level. Consecutively, the intensity of the tournament offers spectators with enthralling showdowns. Similarly, will team Penn State be able to take over Yale’s volleyball team?
