Badgers’ loss, Huskers’ gain?

The Nebraska Huskers, on the other hand, are leading by 1.5 games over Wisconsin in the Big Ten standings, as pointed out by Lincoln Arneal who covers Nebraska volleyball. For now, the Huskers are one game up in the win column and two in the loss column. Average them and the difference is 1.5. Arneal’s tweet regarding this reads, “Nebraska currently has a 1.5-game lead on Wisconsin in the Big Ten standings. The Huskers have a two-game lead in the loss column as of now.” Side by side, he also brought out another interesting aspect of the tournament.

Nebraska still has 5 games left in their hands, including a road match against Wisconsin itself. And Nebraska’s pain with the away matches is not unknown. But, Arneal writes, “NU’s magic number to win the Big Ten outright is 4 (combination of NU wins & UW losses) with 5 games left.” The indication is clear, even if Nebraska loses to the Badgers, but wins the rest of its games, their chances of winning the championships remain bright. Who says, the tournament is about to end? Seem like the battle has just become more dramatic!
