The High Point University Volleyball team has embarked on the road for a trip to the first round of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament. This season, the Panthers have returned to the global state for the third time in the past four seasons. Interestingly, the Panthers automatically qualified for the NCAA following the 3-0 Big South Conference Tournament win.

Currently, team HPU is scheduled as the No. 3 seed in the Stanford quarter of the bracket. Consequently, team High Point University competed against the University of Tennessee on day two and round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. In addition to this, team Tennessee not only defeated but also recorded a 3-0 clean sweep against team High Point.

Day 2 Round 1: Tennessee vs. High Point

Recently, team Tennessee embarked on the journey to dominate the opponent team High Point. Spectators were quite sure about Tennesse’s win in the showdown. Therefore keeping up with the expectations team Tennessee made it difficult for the opponent team to survive on the NCAA Volleyball turf. Despite giving tough competition to the opponent team Tennessee, High Point could not clinch even one set in the recent showdown. In the first set of the showdown, team Tennessee portrayed potential by securing a 20-25 win. In the following sets, Tennessee secured 19-25 and 25-15.

With the help of exceptional game play and right strategy, Team Tennessee made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Interestingly, team Tennessee not only knocked off team High Point from NCAA but also defeated them with a clean sweep of 3-0 in the recent match. The major reason for Tennessee’s recent win is due to efforts poured by the team to make their matches one of a kind.

Even though Tennessee’s team featured combine efforts poured to make the recent showdown a win, yet some players recorded high individual points. Notably, Morgahn Fingall recorded 20 individual points in the recent showdown along with the .452 hitting percentage. On the other hand, Jenaisya Moore contributed 18.5 points to the team’s total.
