The NCAA Tournament has been the center of attraction since the beginning of automatic qualification across 32 volleyball conferences. Consecutively, teams provide intense competition, making the tournament one of a kind. Along the same lines, two participating teams faced off to make it to the tournament’s third round.

Team SMU made it to the second round by defeating team Texas State by 3-0. On the other hand, Texas’ volleyball team secured its place at the showdown by taking over Texas A&M with a clean sweep of 3-0. Although both the teams made it to the showdown with similar scores against opponents, team Texas overtook SMU with 3-0.

SMU vs. Texas 

In a recent showdown, team Texas entered the volleyball turf to compete against the team SMU. Soon after the beginning of the first set, Texas’ volleyball team showed prowess on the court by making it difficult for SMU even to win a single set. The recent tweet by Texas Volleyball, was captioned, “HORNS WIN AND ADVANCE

In the first set, team Texas emerged victorious with a remarkable 25-16. Despite pouring all efforts into the game, team SMU could not overcome the intense competition provided by Team Texas. Therefore, the Texas volleyball team also won the following two sets of the showdown. 

In addition to this, team Texas secured the last two sets by scoring 25-14 and 25-17. While team Texas will make it to the third round, SMU will be eliminated. Although team Texas featured the combined efforts of the teams to make it to the third of the championship, few of Texas’s players outshined others in the game.

Outstanding players performing well on NCAA turf

While Texas’ Asjia O’Neal contributed 10 points to the team’s total, Jenna Wennas Secured 10.5 in the showdown. Notably, Madisen Skinners was the man of the match as she contributed 24.5 individual points and a remarkable hitting percentage of .486 percent throughout the showdown.

Overall, team Texas performed well on the NCAA Volleyball turf today. But the team is required to work harder to make this championship a win for themselves in the coming matches. By winning the recent showdown, team Texas has made it to the top 16 at NCAA Championships. Will Texas be able to clinch the NCAA Title this season?
