While the Huskers look to create history, one of their juniors can’t help but feel the glee as her first season in Nebraska couldn’t have been better. Huskers hitter shares her candid feelings

Ahead of the season, Merritt Beason was revealed to be moving to Nebraska from Florida. In a recent post on X, Merritt Beason cleared the air about why she chose to move to Nebraska. Captioned “Merritt Beason got exactly what she wanted.”, the post shows the jubilant Nebraska team gloating after securing their ticket to Tampa, Florida. While it remains to be seen what the Sunny State has to offer this year’s Big Ten champions, Beason’s cheery mood is understandable at this point.

Beason was quoted saying she knew what Nebraska brings to the table before joining the Huskers. “I knew I was walking into a very high level, very competitive program, and that’s what I wanted“, said Beason. It was that high bar set by the Huskers that ultimately prompted Beason to pick up the red and white stripes, confessed the rising junior.

In their match against the Razorbacks, Beason recorded a staggering 19 kills, making sure the Huskers gained an advantage early into the game. Contributing to her defensive duties, Beason also made 11 digs that helped her team to stay in the game. The Huskers won the match 26-24, 25-14, 25-21, and 25-23.
