During the opening weekend of the women’s professional volleyball league, Nebraska fans set a new attendance record of 11,624. As the Supernovas took on the Atlanta Vibes, fans showed their determination to make sure that any team in the country containing the name “Nebraska” continues to plague their opponents. Now, it looks like the future of volleyball is in safe hands in Cornhusker State as fans attain yet another milestone.

Nebraska’s volleyball fans rally behind their team once again
The Omaha Supernovas took on the San Diego Mojo at the Nebraska city today. While the hosts’ fixation on registering their first win of the league was apparent, the crowd played their part more than well enough to provide an additional boost. As per a recent social media post by Hurrdat Sports in X, 11,403 fans gathered at the CHI Health Center to help the Omaha team overcome its initial slump in the newly introduced volleyball league.

“@OmahaSupernovas holds the top two attendance records for U.S. pro women’s volleyball,” reads the caption of the post further, indicating the data from the opening weekend. “No sophomore slump for the Supernovas“, wrote volleyball pundit Lincoln Arneal in his own Twitter post, where he shared the sonorous announcement by Hurrdat Sports.

The Huskers have dominated the collegiate volleyball scene for quite some time. In last year’s NCAA championship, the Nebraska University team looked more threatening than ever before until the Texas Longhorns managed to put an end to their 5-game winning streak in the finals. However, the state’s professional team looks to be finally finding its feet as they came back in a resolute manner to chalk up their first victory.

Omaha Supernovas open their winning streak
Despite one of their star players having to leave the court because of an injury, the Supernovas were in no mood to be held back by the adversities. The Omaha Team swept past the San Diego Mojo on Saturday with 25-17, 25-18, and 25-22. The Nebraska squad picked up 44 kills, including 5 aces, showing just how much the first win meant for the team.
