Shaun White recorded an end to one of the most decorated Olympic careers at the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022. With a half-pipe performance to remember, White signed off in signature style. And despite not being able to make the podium on his final Olympics, he nonetheless goes down as one of the most celebrated winter Olympians to grace the sport.
But what about now, after his retirement? Does he have any specific plans? In a recent media interaction, Shaun may just have let a few details slip.

Shaun White is a 5 time Olympian and a 3-time gold medalist at the Winter Olympics. Having been in and around the conversation of competing since his initial burst onto the scene in Torino in 2006, he remained a centerpiece until his retirement 5 Olympic games later in 2022. Competing mainly in the Men’s Individual Half-Pipe Event, White was credited with developing and executing several tricks across the length of his career.
Specifically, in the earlier stages, White excited the general audience with his energy and eagerness to be a part of the competition. However, after his retirement from the sport in Beijing, White has expressed interest in other pursuits too. One of them? A summer job.
Shaun White wants a Summer Job
In a recent interview on the Dan Patrick show, Shaun White revealed that he has always wanted a summer job even while he has been a part of the competition circuit. Dan Patrick actually prompted the discovery from the athlete when he insisted that Shaun, “Go get a job!” now that he had the time to engage in one. Quick to respond, White replied, “Yeah totally!” before exploring the option a bit more.

Said White, “I did wanna have a summer job at like…In and Out Burger.” Shaun also spoke as to why he wanted that specific gig; his motivation in doing an over-the-counter job at the outlet? “I would give people a hard time as they came through,” White added as he opened up about how that was the part of the job he would really enjoy.
Dan Patrick seemed to enjoy the idea of White working the counter; even suggesting that he should perhaps hire a documentary crew and capture footage as he completes single shifts at various summer jobs now that he has the time. Possibly making clear what Shaun is doing this summer, the idea really seemed to stick. Said Shaun, “Yeah I like that!”

The athlete has wound down his career as someone who competes at the top step consistently and it seems as though he will definitely be enjoying his downtime.
