Mikaela Shiffrin is a woman of absolute determination and strength, and once again she has proved the same. After going through some major setbacks at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, Shiffrin has finally secured her long-awaited podium place.

At her first match since Olympics heartbreaks, Shiffrin successfully won the second position. To make her day, even more, brighter, one of her idols, and tennis legend Roger Federer, also came to watch the heroics on ice.

Mikaela Shiffrin was thrilled as Roger Federer attended her World Cup Event

After taking a break from the Beijing games, Mikaela finally made her comeback at the Lenzerheide, Switzerland Super G World Cup Event. The US Alpine Skiing star once again overcome every setback and flew her way to the podium. Shiffrin clinched second place, showcasing her dominance in the sport.

Making the World Cup event more exciting. The tennis legend, Roger Federer also cheered for the athletes. Post victory, Shiffrin posted a picture with Roger Federer saying, ”So Dang Cool to see @rogerfederer there watching, cheering, and chatting with all athletes. What a human.”

While she could not win first place, this is just a restart of Mikaela’s show in the sport. Shiffrin will now vie to clinch the World Cup overall title. Interestingly, her biggest rival, Petra Vlhova, is the defending champion, while Mikaela has won this title three times before.

Mikaela Beats Petra in World Rankings

Earlier this week, rival Petra Vlhova, had climbed her way up to sit on the top position with Mikaela. However, Shiffrin’s win today has again taken her above all her competitors. Mikaela is now the solo world number one in the overall alpine skiing world rankings.

Shiffrin has 1106 points, while Petra has 1039. Notably, Petra took over Mikaela’s Olympic gold medal title in Beijing, with her comeback Mikaela has a chance for redemption, and things are already looking optimistic for her glory.
