The huge six foot two inches wrestling star, Cohlton Scultz, competes at the Greco-Roman category. Moreover, by establishing himself as the World Champion in that category, he has proven his worth time and again. Having said that, he had asserted on having a penchant for figuring out the non-stop action and grinding through the hard stuff. Growing up watching wrestling with his father, Scultz always wanted to follow in a legend’s footsteps.

Schultz’s attempt to unfurl his victory flag at the recent 2023 Wrestling World Championships had failed. He surrendered to his worthy rival Romas Fridrikas and lost to him in the 16th round. Always prioritizing his ‘mental game’, and sporting a patient self, the wrestler’s future plans look convincing.

Wrestling champ is passionate about entertainment

Olympics.com interviewed Cohlton Schultz after his World Championship bout. When asked about his future WWE plans, the 2023 Pan-American Games silver medalist confessed his career transition desire. He said, ?I feel like the entertainment value and what some of those guys are doing is just incredible. The way they?re flying across the ropes, throwing each other around, and that?s second nature to me in my career so far, so turning that into entertainment sounds like fun!?

As per his statement, he wants to take his wrestling career forward to sell the entertainment value more than the intensity of the sport. Moreover, as a passionate wrestler, he grew up watching the legendary Kurt Angle, who engaged in WWE for the fun of it after establishing himself as a prominent name. Angle was the 1996 Atlanta Olympic’s gold medalist.

Talking about Gable Stevenson who made the same transition, Schultz said, ?Gable and I were competitors for a long time, so seeing him make that jump was cool. That transition really didn?t seem like that much of an option until he did it, so I guess we will see where it goes for me.?

In 2022, Schultz achieved a significant milestone which made his career sailing quite smooth. Along with fullback Case Hatch, the ASU athlete became one of the 15 to have earned the special opportunity.

NIL program for Schultz

Name, Image and Likeness, which the WWE named as ‘Next In Line’, welcomed the All-American athlete as a crucial member. Further, according to the rules, the athletes on completion of the programme would stand a chance to win an exclusive opportunity of getting a WWE contract. To this Schultz said, ?I grew up being a fan of the WWE and in high school, me and one of my buddies got really into it. It was really exciting just to think of an opportunity of something like (the WWE) in my future.?

Towards the end of 2021, ‘NIL’ mainly focussed on catering to the needs of the potential future stars. Through media training, brand creation, communications, creative writing, live event promotion, and community interactions with college athletes from a variety of athletic backgrounds, the initiative further refines the WWE’s talent development process.
