The captain of the big red was cheering for his teammates as they went on to finalize their run with a bronze at the U23 World Wrestling Championship.

Team USA started strong at the U23 World Wrestling Championship. The wrestlers have managed to finalize a successful medal run at the championship. Along with Keegan O?Toole, Aaron Brooks and Wyatt Hendrickson, one of the teammates of Vito Arujau from Cornell has finished their championship run with a medal.

Rallying for another Cornell sensation

The U23 wrestling championship is halfway through with Team USA dominating the race with three golds, a bronze and some more medals on the way. Vito Arujau, who was crowned the champion at the World Championship in his weight division, was cheering for his Cornell teammate, Jacob Cardenas. In an Instagram story, Vito shared the post from @bigredwrestling on his Instagram stories in which they were congratulating Cardenas for his bronze run at the U23 Championship.

Wrestling at 92 kgs Cardenas defeated India?s Pruthviraj Patil to claim the bronze at the championship. He rallied back from a one-point lead his opponent had. Two takedowns were recorded in the second half by Cardenas, including the one he recorded in the final minute. That point gave him a lead and a win over his opponent. With the bronze medal run by Cardenas, Team USA has maintained its dominance at the Championship.

Redemption at Wrestling Championship

The championship dominance comes as a redemption for the last upsetting run by the team at the championship last year. Team USA has already registered three golds to their name. Isaac Trumble wrestling at 97 kg could be the fourth gold to strengthen Team USA’s position in the standings. While Jacob Cardenas’ bronze has added value to the team?s standings, Doug Zapf’s wrestling at 70 kg could bring another bronze for the team.

The women?s freestyle will start on 25th October. They could be the ones to push a dominating streak of wins for Team USA. With very promising prospects like Amit Elor, Alisha Howk, and Katie Gomez, Team USA is looking forward to an overall successful run at the tournament. Not only does the U23 Wrestling championship serve as the redemption for Team USA, but it also serves much-needed game experience who will be potentially debuting at the Paris Olympics 2024.
