Legendary Russian Wrestler’s World Champion Son Grapples His Way to the Pinnacle of USA’s Wrestling Scene at $65.1 Billion University

Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine (WIN) reports on high school and college wrestling events in America. Every year, it releases its tournament power index of different universities and colleges. Recently, it has released its 2023-24 pre-season TPI. It also released the individual ranking of wrestlers.

On the top rank, the $65.1 Billion USA University featured its ten no. 1 wrestlers in different weight categories. In the NCAA Division I national rankings, the legendary Russian Wrestler’s World Champion Son secured the spot among the ten no. 1 wrestlers.

World Wrestling champion Vito Arujau tabbed No. 1

Cornell University champion Vito Arujau fetched the spot of number 1 in the 133-pound weight category. He also collected the coveted gold in the 2023 Senior World Freestyle Wrestling Championship at 61 kg weight class by defeating the 2021 World Champion Abasgadzhi Magomedov. After this he delivered a statement to the media, He said, “I’m the most dynamic, dominant wrestler the sport’s ever seen”. This was his debut attempt at the world championship. Moreover, this world-class and talented wrestler also won the 2023 NCAA title at Cornell and the US Freestyle Open.

He is the son of the famous legendary Russian wrestler Vougar Oroudjov. His father secured the world crown for the soviet Union in 1991 and 1995. Also, he participated in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and collected Bronze. Vito is determined to follow in his father’s footsteps and bring more accolades to his nation. Along with Vito, the No. 1 Penn State also featured other wrestlers.

The other Penn State top-ranked wrestlers

Carter Starocci in the 174 pounds class and Aaron Brooks in the 197 pounds class were also included in the list of high performers. Both will be participating in the upcoming 4th National Championship at the 2024 NCAA Division 1 Championship. This has been scheduled for the next march in Kansas City.

Also, we have Nittany Lions and Levi Haines in the 157-pound weight class along with Greg Kerkvliet. They played in the 2nd NCAA tournament last March. The Penn State school feels proud of its achievements as it is the only school from which 10 wrestlers have been named in the Pre-Season Rankings. The school has topped the list by garnering a whopping score of 149 points.

The WIN Magazine also provided the advancement scores for the 2024 NCAA season. The points are subject to change depending on where the wrestlers finish in the upcoming NCAA season. In the rankings of school, Missouri with 70.5 points got second place. Virginia Tech secured the third spot with 64.5 points. Thus, Cornell University was far above in terms of the score by securing  149 points.
