Nebraska’s wrestling program has never shied away from boasting a multitude of young talents on its divisional roster. Along similar lines, the University of N?braska’s wr?stling program has once again made it to the spotlight with its new recruitment drive. Head Coach Mark Manning proudly announced the addition of six new members to the team. Fans were in high anticipation after the news came out.

In addition to the four new signees, Nebraska has announced that two of its top 2023 signees are delaying their eligibility until next season. That means that Nebraska signed 15 wrestlers in the ?23 class. Now, the wrestlers who joined the Husk?rs for the Class of 2024 are LJ Araujo, Omar Ayoub, Marco Christiansen, Colin McAlister, Ka?l Laurids?n, and Camd?n McDan?l. Nebraska Huskers’ 2024 recruitment drive

Introducing the young wrestlers who joined the team, the official page of Nebraska Wrestling took to its X handle and penned, “Introducing the 2024 Signing Class.”

LJ Araujo, a South Dakota nativ?, is on the cusp of starting his s?nior s?ason at Bismarck High School, aiming for his fifth stat? championship. His remarkable journey began with an eighth-grade state title and culminated in his fourth championship win in the last season at 160 pounds. Araujo, currently ranked 81st on the MatScouts Big Board for the Class of 2024, is determined to climb the rankings after a stellar performance at the Senior 32 tournament.

Omar Ayoub is another standout commitm?nt for N?braska. With a remarkable record of 52-2, Ayoub secured the 138-pound OHSAA Div. I Strike Wrestling Championship. He dominated his opponents throughout the tournament, including an exhilarating championship match where he scored a late touchdown and back points for a 9-6 victory. He belongs to Dublin Coffman High School, situated in Dublin, Ohio. He is a two-time OHSAA state champion (138) and a three-time state finalist.

Marco Christians?n, a junior from Minn?sota, is ranked No. 93 on the ?24 Big Board. He is a solid addition out of Minnesota. The No. 14-ranked 182-pounder in the country, Christiansen is a Minnesota state champ and 2023 Fargo All-American.

Colin McAlist?r, who committ?d to th? Univ?rsity of N?braska in S?pt?mb?r, brings a w?alth of ?xp?ri?nc? to th? t?am. He resides in Shawnee, Kansas, and was a junior player at Mill Valley High School. His competitive wrestling profile shows his impressive wrestling record, competition results, and match videos, highlighting his potential as a valuable addition to the squad. His accolades include being named the Kansas 6A State Champion in 2023. Followed by securing a victory in the Fourth Place State in 2022, and lastly, being the Southern Plains Freestyle Champ in 2022.

Ka?l Laurids?n, a two-tim? N?braska stat? champion from B?nnington High School, adds furth?r d?pth to N?braska’s wr?stling rost?r. His achievements include winning a 16U national Greco-Roman title in Fargo and securing high rankings in his weight class. Laurids?n’s remarkable track record encompasses national titles and strong performances in both professional and Gr?co-Roman wrestling
