Huskers wrestler marks return with massive win

Earlier this year, Robb contracted a bacterial disease, necrotizing fasciitis during a tournament in Oklahoma. The bacteria destroy healthy cells and doctors had to rush to make sure the wrestler wasn’t facing an early end to his career. After almost two weeks at the hospital and multiple surgeries, Robb was deemed to be safe. The Huskers poster boy recently returned to his game and secured his first win on the mat in months. The official Nebraska account shared Robb’s feat with a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Along with the prize for securing the top spot in the 157lb category, Robb has also been bestowed with the 2023 CKLV Outstanding Wrestler award. Robb managed a significant 6-4 decision win over Arizona State’s Jacori Teemer. With his 2nd CKLV title, Peyton spearheaded the Huskers’ dominance over their opponents.

2023 CKLV has been full of monumental moments

This year’s CKLV turned out to be quite an event, and not just for the Huskers star. Iowa State Cyclones ended an almost three-decade-long dry spell to win their fifth CKLV team title. The Cyclones are still reeling from their recent defeat at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes at the 2023 Cy-Hawk Series, and this win will inject some much-needed confidence into the team.
