The Cliff Keen Las Vegas collegiate wrestling is on and the Nebraska Huskers are creating quite a ripple. Along with the exceptional performance of the team, one player stands out in particular: Peyton Robb. The 5th year Huskers senior has remained a dependable name in collegiate wrestling. Robb might well be considered a Huskers legend in the future and he showed his mettle once again at the 2023 CKLV.
Peyton was at the wrong end of a horrific bacterial infection earlier this year. At the CKLV, Robb made his return and won a thrilling match in the 157lb category. His will to overcome setbacks won him another prestigious recognition at this year’s invitation-only wrestling tournament.

Huskers wrestler marks return with massive win
Earlier this year, Robb contracted a bacterial disease, necrotizing fasciitis during a tournament in Oklahoma. The bacteria destroy healthy cells and doctors had to rush to make sure the wrestler wasn’t facing an early end to his career. After almost two weeks at the hospital and multiple surgeries, Robb was deemed to be safe. The Huskers poster boy recently returned to his game and secured his first win on the mat in months. The official Nebraska account shared Robb’s feat with a post on X, formerly Twitter.

2023 CKLV has been full of monumental moments
This year’s CKLV turned out to be quite an event, and not just for the Huskers star. Iowa State Cyclones ended an almost three-decade-long dry spell to win their fifth CKLV team title.
