The American wrestling community had received a major shock fourteen months ago. One of its celebrated collegiate and international wrestlers was accused of a very heinous crime. Post that he was promptly arrested for it. The case has now taken a fresh turn after a court dismissed the charges levied on him.

Albert James Ferrari Jr is an NCAA wrestling champion from Oklahoma who got charged with a serious case of “se*ual battery”. A social media post recently broke the news of the new turn his case took as the charges were “dismissed”. The news has created quite an uproar within the wrestling community and is being widely discussed.

Breather for Wresting sensation

According to a tweet by FloWrestling on X, “Charges against NCAA Champion AJ Ferrari have been dismissed ending a 14-month legal dispute.”  Ferrari was charged for the case on August 3, 2022. It was taken to court, but no conclusion was reached for 14 long months. However, the court in Payne County “dismissed” the charges against Ferrari on October 6.

Ferrari’s father took to Facebook on this occasion and wrote, “We have always maintained AJ Jr’s innocence and our faith in God, knowing he has a plan for AJ Jr and our family… and His plan may be different than ours. We have had to remind ourselves to be thankful for life’s challenges, as it develops perseverance and bring us closer to God and each other.” 

Wrestling pro’s career at stake

AJ Ferrari hasn’t really been doing well for quite some time, and the court case has exacerbated his problems. Ferrari went through a road accident that injured him and put a premature full stop to his 2021-22 season. This also prompted the Oklahoma State wrestling to drop Ferrari from the team in July 2022. This was followed by the case in August, after which Ferrari didn’t enroll in any classes for 2022-23.

Ferrari has got the support of his family beside him. On his Facebook post, his father took time to thank everyone who stood by their side during the crisis. It must be a phase of revitalization for the talented wrestler. We only hope that by punching away all the trouble, he will soon grace the mats with his full glory.
