The Super 32 Challenge wrestling event held in America recently reached its end. The competition yielded several winners in different weight classes that showed excellent performances, However, a 120-pound wrestler especially caught the eye of one of America’s Olympic legends.

Reigning Olympic gold medalist David Taylor recently celebrated the victory of Anthony Knox at the Super 32 Challenge. While Knox received the congratulations of many, Taylor pointed out a major feat achieved by Knox in his pursuit of victory. In fact, the same milestone was touched in 2006 by David Taylor himself.

Anthony Knox claims big wins all tournament

Anthony Knox had a stellar Super 32 Challenge campaign run. The 120-pound high school wrestler is a two-time New Jersey state champion. The young champ registered a big finals victory against Pennsylvania’s 2x state champion Nathan Desmond in a flawless 11-0 match. Moreover, he registered almost all his wins in a similar fashion. David Taylor took to Instagram to share a post on his story that highlighted the achievement of Knox.

According to the post Taylor shared, “This is the list – from 2005 till Knox did it this year – of everyone who bonused their way thru S32.” The list also noted that only seven wrestlers had managed to achieve this in the last 19 years, including David Taylor in 2006. Bonusing a match in wrestling refers to winning with a point difference exceeding seven. 

The next slide of the post displayed the matches fought by Knox that showed the mentioned point difference. David Taylor celebrating the victory of a wrestler in a competition where his students also participated is a wonderful gesture and highlights his sportsmanship. Moreover, the victory added a major feather to the cap of Knox. In fact, the young 120-pounder declared his commitment to Cornell University after his big tournament victory.

High school star wrestler moves to Cornell Big Red Wrestling

Anthony Knox may just be a high school student, but he does know how to steal the show in every way. The young wrestler didn’t just clinch every match in the tournament with a bonus, he also announced his college decision in style.

After his win against Desmond, Knox went to his corner and emerged with a red shirt bearing Cornell University’s name. The 120-pounder totally captured everyone’s attention via his bold move after claiming a rare achievement.

Interestingly, Knox fought his matches with a Batman singlet that already caught everyone’s eye. The follow-up with Cornell’s shirt acted as the cherry on the cake. Knox will now be moving to the prestigious university that raised mighty wrestlers like Vito Arujau, Kyle Dake, Yianni Diakomihalis, and many more. The wrestling community will now eagerly await Knox’s next move now that he has everyone’s attention.
