Out of PSU’s 10 ranked wrestlers, Levi Haines (157lbs), Carter Starocci (174lbs), Aaron Brooks (197lbs), and Greg Kerkvliet (285lbs) held the first rank in their respective weight classes. Moreover, the 141lbs weight class also carries two Penn State Wrestling athletes, Beau Bartlett at number 2 and Tyler Kasak at number 12.

Kasak isn’t a starter, but he secured this rank despite being a true freshman. Kasak also wrestles in the 149 lbs weight class and holds the 15th position in Big Ten rankings. He will have a brilliant opportunity to elevate his position as he will soon face the nation’s sixth-ranked Austin Gomez. Interestingly, he isn’t the only true PSU freshman making waves in the NCAA.
