

A two-time NCAA champion from Indiana and one of New Jersey’s most celebrated wrestlers, has proven himself to be an exceptional coach. He was promoted to the position of associate head coach before the 2017?18 season and is now entering his 11th season in the 2023?24 season.
On September 19, Joe Dubuque, the veteran assistant who has served as one of two associate head coaches at Princeton since 2017, was announced as the new head coach of the Tigers. Under his leadership, the Princeton wrestling program has made remarkable progress in recent years, collaborating with head coach Chris Ayres to rejuvenate the program in ways that few would have anticipated a decade ago.

Princeton wrestling coach’s winning fan strategy
In a recent Twitter post shared on the official page of Princeton Wrestling, with the caption, “Coach ?@TigercoachJoeyD talks sticking to the brand creating an exciting atmosphere enjoyable for all fans. #letsgetwild.” The head coach is talking about how he is going to excite the fans with the sport.

He mentioned in the video, “We want guys who are tough in every single position.” Besides his work with the lower weights, Dubuque has also dramatically improved Princeton’s presence on social media, and he has brought in thousands of followers to the program through his creativity and imagination.
Dubuque, the 2005 and 2006 NCAA champion, had five years of experience as an assistant coach, including two with his alma mater, Indiana. Prior to that, he spent three years as an assistant with Hofstra.

Anticipating the thrill among the fans
Dubuque wants his fans to talk about the way his team competes especially for this thrilling 2023?24 Season. He wishes the wrestlers would be more tough and aggressive in terms of sports. The A-1 coach would create an atmosphere where the followers could actually talk to every single position for every second of the match.
In the video, he also shares, “We don’t wanna be boring; I want?to create an atmosphere where fans want to come and watch us.” Dubuque’s Let’s Get Wild is now all ready to make fans crazy for wrestling.

The coach and his team are going to take analytical approaches to wrestling. As they plan to shoot more than their opponent, the majority of the time they will aim to score and win more matches. They also want to be in a position where the team can do exciting things technically and then positionally. Dubuque says that he sees this as a really successful plan.
