Collegiate wrestling programs are well-known for producing famous wrestlers worldwide. These wrestlers belonging to such universities add accolades and glory to their college. Recently, one such $65.1 Billion U.S. university honored its notable alumni. Since the inception of its wrestling programs in 1907, this university has produced 20 individual NCAA champions, 42 Ivy League championships, and 27 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championships. Its wrestling program is considered the most successful and renowned among universities worldwide.

Among the honorees was a four-time winner of the wrestling world championship, along with three other respected wrestlers. They were inducted to the Hall of Fame. The university’s pride showed while it conveyed this honor to the flagbearers of the institute.

Cornell University honors 4x Wrestling World Champion

The Cornell University honored its wrestling stars. Kyle Dake, the four-time world championship winner, and three other distinguished wrestling personalities received respect and honor from Cornell University for their achievements in wrestling. The other three Cornell products, along with Kyle Dake, are Steve Bosak, Cam Simaz, and Andy Noel. Cornell Wrestling on its official site X handle mentioned this, “Congratulations to this past weekend’s Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees and all-time greats Steve Bosak, Kyle Dake, Cam Simaz, and Andy Noel! “

Kyle Dake is the only US Wrestler to win the world championship four times in four different weight classes. In 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, he clinched the world title in the 141, 149, 157, and 165 lb respectively. In the 2023 Wrestling World Championship, he secured Silver in the 74 kg weight class. Also, he, along with Steve Bosak and Cam Simaz, won the 2012 NCAA individual national championship trophy. If we talk about Andy Noel, he served as the head coach of the wrestling team.

A special mention about Andy Noel

Andy Noel served as the university wrestling coach for a very long span of time. He was the coach from 1974 to 1988, i.e. for more than 10 years. His tenure was a fruitful one. He helped the wrestlers to achieve great heights. During his tenure, the Cornell University wrestlers won the Ivy League Championship, not once or twice, but four times.

The University elected him as the Director of Athletics in 1999, after succeeding Charles Moore. In 1992, he was also invited to induction into the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame. Steve Bosak, Kyle Dake, Cam Simaz, and Andy Noel truly deserved this honor. These respected personalities have made not just their university, but the entire nation proud of their achievements.
